ABOUT Me

MY LIFE

I am a proud husband, father, print/packaging geek, photographer & amateur musician. I love old things and new - from my 1923 Sonora phonograph and old film cameras, to my new Fendor Strat and iPhone. I'm a huge fan of stop motion animation and Tim Burton. My overall movie collection has grown to over 400 DVDs. I also appreciate true German Engineering and follow F1 and WRC Racing. I beleive anyone can find creativity in just about everything. We were all children once right?! I respect those who can make the best of any situation and demonstrate real passion in their daily life. I love to learn new things and meet new people. They're stories are far more interesting than sharing my own...

What's you're story?

In 1997 I graduated from Appalachian State University with degrees both in Communication (c: Advertising) and Photography. Post graduation I started working for a printing company in Asheville, NC. I worked in the pre-press department as a graphic designer/imaging specialist. After working pre-press for two years and continuing to freelance as a photographer, I moved to Atlanta, Georgia.

I then took a full time position working for a commercial production house called Colorchrome Atlanta. It is here that I refined my skills in digital imaging and print/color management. In addition, I taught both Digital-Capture and Color-Management classes at the Creative Circus. ( www.creativecircus.com )

In 2006 I relocated to Minneapolis Minnesota to work for Target Corporation. I began working as a Color Analyst in our Global Color Office. Two years later I was promoted to Senior Color Process Manager. In February 2011, I was appointed the Senior Technical Designer position in Hardlines Seasonal Product Design and Development.

I continue to enjoy capturing/creating images in my spare time. I often use alternative processes and shoot from extreme angles to further emphasize my subjects. Before I start creating, I determine what processes or techniques I will use in order to complete my vision. I focus on doing as much work in the camera as possible. Some final prints are the result of traditional photographic methods while most are created using a digital SLR and outputting digitally.

Working in the digital darkroom allows me to have more control over my images and it is here that I can really expand the possibilities.
